Irish Ferries check-in times differ depending on the route, from 30 minutes to 2 hours as detailed below. You must ensure that you are through the check-in point before the times advised.
Great Britain / France (Dover - Calais) Route
Latest check-in time:
(note: in Calais port, border control processing is after you check-in – please ensure you allow enough time to complete both check-in AND border control).
- Travelling with car/SUV/van/motorhome – 1 hour before departure
- Travelling with coach – 2 hours before departure
- Travelling by motorcycle – 1 hour before departure
- Travelling with pets- 90 minutes before departure
Great Britain / Ireland Routes
Latest check-in time:
- Travelling with car/SUV/van/motorhome – 30 minutes before departure
- Travelling with coach – 1 hour before departure
- Travelling on foot or cycling – 40 minutes before departure
- Travelling with pets- 1 hour before departure
Ireland / France Route
Latest check-in time:
- Travelling with car/SUV/van/motorhome – 1 hour before departure
- Travelling with coach – 2 hours before departure
- Travelling by Motorcycle – 1 hour 30 minutes before departure
- Travelling on foot or cycling – 1 hour before departure
- Travelling with pets - 2 hours before departure
