We carry all types of passenger vehicles. Please ensure that you select the correct vehicle size (including all appendages such as bicycle racks, tow bars roof racks) as we need to know the amount of space to set aside for you on the car deck.
Vehicles declared incorrectly at the time of booking risk being refused boarding due to space constraints or may be subject to additional charges at the port.
1. Cars
- Up to 1.9m high: Any Car, MPV or 4x4 where the height including any roof items does not exceed 1.9m
- Up to 2.25m high: Any car, MPV or 4x4 where the height including any roof items does not exceed 2.25m
- Over 2.25m high: Any car, MPV or 4x4 where the height including any roof items does exceeds 2.25m
*Tip: put your bicycles on a rear-rack to reduce your overall height, and price.
2. Vans
- Up to 2.25m high and 6m long: Motorist van fares available
- Up to 2.6m high and 6m long: Motorist van fares are available up to 2.6m high and 6m long.
Vans and other commercial vehicles carrying freight goods, or vans which are more than 2.6m high or over 6m long are classified as freight and must be booked via our freight department on irishferriesfreight.com.
Please be aware of the government guidelines on carrying commercial or chargeable goods – see here for more information. In the event of an incorrect disclosure, Irish Ferries reserve the right to re-price the booking and collect any excess, including VAT, at check-in.
3.Camper vans / Motorhomes
- Up to 2.25m high and less than 8m long: specific Camper van / Motorhome rate for heights including any roof items not exceeding 2.25m and no longer than 8m.
- Over 2.25m high and less than 8m long: specific Camper van / Motorhome rate for heights over 2.25m and where length is less than 8m
- Over 8m long and less than 12m long: specific Camper van / Motorhome rate for vehicles including rear racks over 8m long but less than 12m long. The height is irrelevant.
Any vehicles over 12m long are classified as freight and must be booked via our freight department on irishferriesfreight.com.
4. Minibus (multi seat)
- Up to 2.25m high and less than 8m long: specific Minibus (multi seat) vehicle rate for heights including any roof items not exceeding 2.25m and no longer than 8m.
- Over 2.25m high and less than 8m long: specific Minibus (multi seat) vehicle rate for heights including any roof items over 2.25m and no longer than 8m.
- Over 8m long: specific Minibus (multi seat) vehicle rate for lengths including rear racks over 8m but less than 12m long. The height is irrelevant.
Any vehicles over 12m long are classified as freight and must be booked via our freight department on irishferriesfreight.com.
